Why do emoji look different on different computers?
Emoji are drawn with your system emoji font (Segoe UI Emoji on Windows, Apple Color Emoji on macOS/iOS). Pick “Noto Color Emoji” as the font to get the same Google design everywhere.
Can I use emoji favicons commercially?
Emoji designs belong to their font vendors. Noto Color Emoji is open source (SIL OFL); system emoji (Apple, Microsoft) have their own licences — check them for commercial branding. Letters in Google Fonts are free to use.
How many letters fit in a 16 px icon?
One or two bold characters. Three letters only work from 32 px upward. Always check the 16 px preview.
